Sturgeon Moon ANTENNAE | The  Deepening

The Sturgeon Moon surfaces as summer begins to wane, a signal from the depths. Named for the ancient fish that once filled our waters in abundance, this moon evokes ancestry, endurance, and the wisdom that hides beneath stillness. At NOMADlife.tv, we gather once again under its silvery gaze for ANTENNAE, our ongoing ritual of resonance, reflection, and release.

This full moon calls us inward — to feel into the deep layers of ourselves, where memory becomes myth and silence becomes sound. It asks: what truths have been swimming just below the surface? What stories are ready to be reeled in?

With music as sonar and shadow as signal, we become receivers of something older than words — a collective remembering channeled through improvised sound, dance, and light. As always, antennas filmed around the world shimmer across the walls of NOMAD, casting the space into an aquatic dreamscape where movement becomes meaning.

Join us Friday, August 8th at 9PM at 129 Van Horne for the next chapter in our lunar archive. Each ANTENNAE becomes an atmospheric film broadcast on NOMADslow.tv — a meditation in motion, a stream of consciousness, a ritual of presence.

Let the Sturgeon Moon remind you: not all growth rises — some deepens.

Step behind the screen. Tune to the current.
WE ARE ALL ANTENNAE.

ANTENNAE is about attunement to the cosmos, to each other, to what we carry and what we long to release.

Enjoy our most recent film, the Buck Moon ANTENNAE - Becoming :

ANTENNAE invites you to enter the movie of life.
Here, you are the audience and performer, the dreamer and the dream, antenna and signal.

ANTENNAE is a dynamic fusion of creativity and spontaneity, a space where a live film unfolds before your eyes. Described as a creative playground, slow disco, or immersive art experience, it invites you to become both participant and co-creator in this captivating act of live creation.

Led by creator Jason Rodi,
ANTENNAE is an ensemble of musicians improvising what we've come to call "spiritual music", a transcendent sound that lifts the spirit, for which we are mere conduits.
The video installation stages Plato's allegory of the cave, immersing you in a world where
WE ARE ALL
ANTENNAE.

ANTENNAE unfolds under each full moon at NOMADlife.tv.

ANTENNAE IS A WORD
ANTENNAE IS A SYMBOL
ANTENNAE IS THE SKY
ANTENNAE IS THE SIGNAL

ANTENNAE WE ARE ALL
ALWAYS FOREVER NOW
REMEMBER THE FUTURE
REMEMBER OUR SONG

ANTENNAE: A Living Narrative

ANTENNAE is not just an event; it's a living narrative, a canvas for the creation of our own mythologies in the ever-unfolding present. Each event is recorded and filmed for posterity, and available for streaming on all NOMADlife.tv apps (ROKU, FireTV, AndroidTV, AppleTV, iOS, Android, and YouTube).

Spiritual Music : A Transcendent Experience

Like 12 apostles, the core ANTENNAE ensemble is an open band of 12 musicians + guests.  With piano, cello, electric, acoustic and bass guitars, harmonica, vocals, congas, steal and electric drums, flutes, saxophones, and more, we record about 90 minutes of original music each week, never playing the same thing twice.  We keep our sound within the realm of neo-psychedelic, atmospheric, and cinematic aesthetics, which we've come to simply refer to as "spiritual music."  We hence renounce ownership of these spontaneous creations, acting as antennas, connected to the divine, mere conduits for the music flowing through us.

The Installation: A Ballet of Shadows and Light
ANTENNAE stages Plato's allegory of the cave through an installation involving a back projection screen and a large mirror, immersing you in a mesmerizing dance of shadows and light. Participants become integral to this dance, casting their silhouettes against images of antennas shot all over the world by Rodi, a poetic expression of the message WE ARE ALL, and a celebration of the interconnectedness of all things.

The films below, created at ANTENNAE events, are echoes of the eternal present.
The music was recorded live and silhouettes filmed inside
the ANTENNAE at NOMADlife.tv.
