Van Horne Sessions, or VHS for short, are live music videos produced in the Montreal Mile End's legendary NOMAD studios, and curated by Couteau Music House.  Van Horne is the original home base of such bands as Arcade Fire or Godspeed You! Black Emperor.  Consequently, NOMAD hosted such secret shows as Patrick Watson, Dear Criminals, or Barr Brothers to name very few.  Coupled with Couteau’s vast connections in Canada’s independent music scene, NOMAD’s award winning filmmaker and Moment Factory founder, Jason Rodi, lends a cinematic vision to every performance.

FRASE is a singer, producer & multi-instrumentalist from Montreal.  With authenticity and lyrical finesse, his buttery, soulful voice sits atop lofty grooves that push the boundaries of contemporary electronic music.

Montreal trio Afternoon Bike Ride is composed of three musician friends; LIA, Thomas White and Tender Spring, who all debuted as solo acts before forming the group.  The band is known for their lo-fi, bedroom-pop music with strong chillhop electronic influences, intricate textures and the soothing voice of LIA. Afternoon Bike Ride keep suprising their listeners with their unique approach and drive to create therapeutic, healing and positive music. The 3 friends hope to deliver a message: to pause your inner monologue and take a moment to breath.

Born in Saskatchewan and based in Montreal, producer and songwriter Luke Loseth (
Holobody) crafts vast and heavy tunes, crystalline flowers perpetually unfurling.

Hologramme is Canadian producer and composer Clément Leduc's musical brainchild. Defined by a constant search for love in things, his music translates into unique dreamlike and cinematic soundscapes using warm synths, intricate textures and deep basslines.

Montreal Singer-songwriter Sasha Cay draws from a wide array of folk & rock influences, citing the idiosyncratic tunings of Nick Drake & the spontaneity of the Velvet Underground. After independently recording & releasing a lo-fi EP in 2018 entitled “Sink Your Teeth” described as intimate indie-rock, Sasha continued to gig locally whilst recording "Arthur's Party Trick" released November 2020.

Following the success of his debut album Counterglow, Montreal alternative-pop artist Reno McCarthy recently released 'Run Up River' carrying on a path of sultry grooves and hooky melodies. As always, his inspiration stems from insecurities plaguing a young artist at a time when irreverence and vulnerability are inevitable, rendering his music is instantly relatable.

Ragers have always been somewhat of a mystery, since popping out of the darkness in late 2014. With 4 releases in as many years, they have become an important cog in Montreal’s musical scene. Cumulating acclaim from The Fader, Complex and XXL Magazine, the band won over the scene with their eclectic mix of hip-hop and live instruments. They consistently present a mutating showcase of new boundaries in urban electronic music.

LIA is the D.C. born, Montreal-based singer-songwriter / producer with sultry vocals and a poetic state of mind. Her debut to the music scene began with a string of successful singles and collaborations across 2017 and 2018, gathering millions of streams, nurturing a strong online presence and leading to shows in Montreal, New York City & Singapore. 2019 saw the release of LIA's debut Vasilia EP written and co-produced by herself. Developed between LIA's bedroom and co-producers Lust and Thomas White, Vasilia is a forward-thinking, sonic journey of the divine feminine, finding resilience in mind and relationships, drawing themes from the Slavic folk tale of Baba Yaga. With progressive genre-bending production cut by hypnotic soprano-lead vocals, LIA’s sound is clearly her own.
